Our Projects

Alsson Network was appointed by the DFFE in 2021 to develop the Game Meat Strategy for South Africa. Wide stakeholder engagement occurred where 250 individuals from more than 145 organisations were consulted within a period of 6 months. The Game Meat Strategy was promulgated in November 2023.
The project entailed industry and market analysis to get an overview of game meat trade which was incorporated into a Status Quo Report. Thereafter a Strategy and an Implementation Plan was developed in collaboration with industry leaders.

The National Energy Regulator of SA appointed Alsson Network in 2022 to undertake a Business Process Re-Engineering Project. The service rendered included process modelling of workflows, a gap analysis aligned to Lean best practice as well as recommendations for improvement and automation. Apart from the aforementioned, a high-level implementation plan was developed as well as an automation maturity matrix to measure the success of improved processes over time.

Alsson Network developed the IDP for the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation Area and it’s five sub-TFCA’s located in Eswatini, Mozambique and South Africa. The purpose of the IDP was to plan, coordinate and implement strategies in an integrated and inclusive manner; to support the optimal allocation of resources to assure the wellbeing of the communities in and around the TFCA; and to preserve the landscapes and seascapes with the added value of economic development, especially the role tourism plays in the TFCA.

Alsson developed the Diamond Board of Namibia’s Five-Year Integrated Strategic Business Plan, their Annual Business Plan, an Operational Plan, Performance Agreements for Board Members as well as a Policy and Procedure Manual.

Alsson developed Sustainability Standards which formed the basis of the development of a Voluntary and Market-Led Certification Scheme for the Wildlife Economy of South Africa. The Sustainability Standard was developed on three levels: general business, the environment as well as on product level. To complement the Standard, a Certification Scheme Strategy and Business Case was developed by the Alsson Team to complement and guide existing and new practices towards inclusive and systemic sustainability within the wildlife economy and to guide operationalisation of the Standard.

Alsson formulated strategic work plans to address the policy and regulatory bottlenecks and gaps based on the SADC Model Policy Framework for the Regional Leather Value Chain. This project was done both for the Namibian as well as the Zambian Leather Value Chains. The Alsson Team conducted national stakeholder workshops, respectively in Windhoek and in Lusaka, to solicit inputs from value chain actors to prioritise gaps and validate findings after which national strategic work plans were developed to guide the implementation of the policy framework.

An ambitious journey to rewild 80,000 hectares of land in the Cunene Province in Southern Angola is in exploration phase. The approach entails intertwining ecological restoration with the creation of sustainable livelihoods in an aid to foster a model of ecotourism and natural resource management that benefits both people and nature. Alsson developed the feasibility study for the Big 5 Wildlife Reserve, determined the market potential for eco-tourism in the Reserve to devise the most suitable business model/s for Southern Angola as well as showcasing its financial viability through the development of a Financial Model.

Alsson in partnership with Namibian-based SoftQubes Technologies, provided an analysis of business processes at NamWater. A review of 128 As-Is business processes was undertaken whilst these processes were optimised to increase operational efficiency. Recommendations towards digitisation and automation enhancements were assessed and made.
